Timeless Sangallo lace

23/10/2013

A very old style but up-to date fabric, it is considered the climax of elegance and style. It is a pleasure for your eyes and hands.

We are talking about the timeless, romantic and a bit vintage Sangallo lace.

By the second half of the XVI century, it was already present in Venice, Italy and in the Flanders;  then it developed in the following centuries in France, England, Spain and Switzerland. Since Napoleon Bonaparte  considered it a wonderful expression of style and elegance, he  imposed this kind of elegant and refined lace to his court clothing.

Never considered an old fashioned fabric, it has currently come back in the limelight on fashion runways and re- proposed for accessories, inserts and jewelry.

In home furnishing too, since Sangallo lace is an embroidery playing with lights and shades effects, transparencies, a sensation of hiding and revealing at the same time, it frequently surprises positively when it approaches those who need a very refined style for their settings.
